Product – Sporting History
February 24, 2011 by admin

I’m amazed how many sporting clubs celebrate anniversaries and reunions each year.

For some clubs it might be 25 or 50 years, for others over 100. Consider the history of these clubs for a moment. The players who played, the community involvement, the volunteers, the facilities, the records, the achievements, the photographs, the fashion, the list of memories is endless.

Club histories take time but are met with so much anticipation. The swell of pride and emotion upon receiving and reading the finished product is often overwhelming.

For many, the task of collating stories and photographs, writing, editing, designing and laying out the content is just too much. But it doesn’t need to be. The most important thing is to plan ahead.

Several years from a significant milestone, your club and committees should be discussing how you will celebrate, who might collate material, and importantly, who you will trust with making your publication everything it should be”.
