OBH 10 Year Celebration

Isn’t it incredible how quickly time goes by? This year marks ten years since the amalgamation of Howden Printing and Openbook Australia. To acknowledge the occasion we hosted a casual bbq party with clients and suppliers popping in during the afternoon to raise a toast to this milestone and join with us in celebrating our journey so far. The warehouse was transformed into a contemporary event venue with blue and white paper lanterns draped from the ceiling and live acoustic music from Him & Her creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Welcoming guests during the official speeches, MC Sarah Leo thanked those in attendance for their support and for joining us to celebrate, reinforcing that our brand tag line “working with you” is a sincere summation of the essence of our business.

Michael Richards spoke of the history of the company and the vision of his dad, Ashley Richards and director, Keith Kemp as they worked together to develop a sustainable and innovative print company. Michael also acknowledged the support of his mum, Gayle Richards as he has stepped into the role of Chief Operating Officer following Ashley’s passing in 2013.obh-01_img_7693_fb

Keith thanked all of the clients and suppliers for their continued support while acknowledging Michael and Sarah Leo for their management and leadership.

The formalities closed with a symbolic cutting of the cake, a masterpiece crafted by Kim Cudbertson in Marketing and Communications and all guests left with an OBH branded cupcake.

We look forward to celebrating our next anniversary and are excited to think about the changes to come in the print and design industry.
