Terrence Coulthard grew up at Nepabunna in a great community of Adnyamathanha speakers which was the foundation for his life-long interest in Adnyamathanha culture. Josephine Coulthard also uses Adnyamathanha language in day-to-day life and both Terrence and Josephine use Adnyamathanha as teachers for the Education Department and at the Coulthard family’s Cultural Tourism Centre at Iga Warta – the place of the native Orange, Northern Flinders Ranges.
Their combined passion also sees them work on the development of an Aboriginal Studies curriculum which incorporates Adnyamathanha Ngawarla ‘language’.
