Budgie Saves the Day

Tom lives on a country farm in Australia.  His pet Budgie learns to mimic a variety of phrases from Tom and his parents.  An opportunistic robber decides to rob their home when he saw the family leave the farm in their car on the way to the circus in town.  At first, all seems well for the robber as he enters the kitchen via the back door.  Budgie, fully alert, starts to recite phrases which alarmed the robber.  After various comical scenarios the robber fled in fright.  This story is fun for the young reader.
