Stories from the Burra Railway Station
$75
Stories of the Burra Railway Station 1870-2021 is a fascinating insight into the rise – and the demise – of the railways in regional South Australia and a unique opportunity to experience vicariously through the stories associated with the Station the everyday lives of the people of Burra and districts and the role that the Station played in those lives.
We journey through the heyday of rail transport to the cessation of passenger services in 1986 and the last grain train in 1999, to the fall into dereliction of the building and finally the story of its remarkable restoration begun in 2011.
