The second, fully revised edition of this well-known field guide features 356 of the more common plants within the outback region of South Australia, 10 more than in the previous edition.
This is supplemented with a description of landforms and habitats, a glossary and comprehensive index.
The plants have been arranged into their various life-forms, with descriptions and full colour photos, easy to recognise habitat icons and distribution maps.
212 plants are featured with full-page descriptions. 24 common weeds are also included. Comments on each plant include pastoral value, general interest and aboriginal usage.
The guide is presented in a way that is accessible to everyone.
It is published by State Herbarium of South Australia (Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium) in collaboration with the Pastoral Unit (Department for Environment and Water)
