Peter John Stone (Stoney), born 16 February 1944 experienced family turmoil during early school days, along with falling victim to the dreaded Polio disease. These setbacks could have contributed to his rebellious attitude towards schooling.

He left school at 14½ years of age to work in the Mallee country where most blokes had a ‘work hard, play hard’ outlook on life. These Mallee ratbags lived on the wild side, way back in those wonderful 60s.
