Leonid’s Story
The Good Provider is about Leonid Olijnyk and his family who lived in Ukraine through the Bolshevik Revolution, the Stalinist Holodomor, loss and displacement during World War 2, and eventual arrival in Australia on board the Liberty ship, The General M B Stewart.
It is a poignant true story of love and survival and faith in family togetherness. Young Leonid becomes a provider of food for the family and seeks solace in the beauty of nature no matter what tragic circumstances surround him. In Australia, he realises a dream of sharing fine art images with everyone through his mastery of photography and is now a recognised contemporary artist and a Fellow of the Royal South Australian Society of Art.
