‘Under Peeralilla’ describes the history of the European settlement of the Hindmarsh Valley district on the south coast of South Australia. Drawing on the lifetime research of local historian the late Hazel Zilm, as well as land titles records, newspaper files and personal histories, the book records the stories of the local community over time, concentrating on the history of farming in the area, its school, church and entertainments. In addition the histories of both the local Aboriginal people and over 200 farming families are described. The book is profusely illustrated and fully indexed.
